
Ann Ford
Ann (Chambers) Ford was born in Youngstown, Ohio, the youngest of 5 children. She moved extensively throughout her childhood, living in several states on the East coast. Her love of art began as a child and continued throughout her life. In 1997, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Communication Art + Design. After graduation she worked in the private sector before returning to VCU as Director of Creative and Public Relations for the Department of Theatre. In 2001, she became an adjunct professor in the Department of Graphic Design and in 2002 became Liaison for VCUQatar, VCU’s School of the Art in Doha, Qatar in the middle east. In 2005, Ann decided to pursuer her MFA in a quest to become a full-time professor. After completing her MFA at VCU in Design / Visual Communications, in 2008, she obtained a tenure-track position at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia.
Ann is currently an Associate Professor and Interim Chair for the Department of Art & Design at Virginia State University where she teaches courses in typography, graphic design history, package design, graphic and web design.
